About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer in Long Beach, California, you will help safeguard clients at a utilities location. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, conduct patrols, communicate with visitors and site personnel, and provide customer service while maintaining a professional presence to help deter security-related incidents. The role is scheduled for daytime hours, with shifts listed as Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM and Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points at a utility location, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor or contractor access documentation, and maintain accurate access records.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to restricted areas, communicate site entry requirements, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular conditions to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, follow established emergency procedures, and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, buildings, and perimeter areas to identify and report security-related concerns.
