About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Enhanced Security Officer in Smithfield, Virginia, for badge enrollment at a food and beverage production location. The position provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The designated site and weekly anchor shift require a six-month commitment. Additional shifts may be picked up at other sites, and schedules may vary from part-time to as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back.

The posted pay rate is $17.60 per hour. The listed schedule is Friday and Saturday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Duties include customer service, access control, monitoring and recording site entry, inspecting vehicles and shipments, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local rules.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific access-control procedures, security policies, and emergency-response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and help deter unauthorized access.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles, deliveries, and shipments according to site procedures; document irregularities and escalate concerns.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access-control issues, and critical situations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
