About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer for a technology-focused location in De Soto, Kansas. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge processes. The role uses computer or tablet systems and requires professional communication with employees and visitors and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

The scheduled shifts are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The pay rate is $25.06 per hour. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening, as permitted by law. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Access control or badge experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, or potential security concerns.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and site traffic, assisting with access control and visitor management as assigned.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and notify appropriate personnel according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while supporting a professional and welcoming environment.
