Security Officer Patrol Operations
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location in Rensselaer, New York. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, report observations according to site procedures, and provide customer service to employees and visitors. The position is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and pays $18.91 per hour. The role includes conducting regular and random patrols of buildings, laboratories, parking areas, and perimeter areas; monitoring access points; verifying visitor and contractor authorization; maintaining entry records; responding to incidents and alarms; and documenting patrol findings and shift activities. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and drug screen, subject to applicable laws. State or local licensing may be required. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for an unarmed role.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Successfully complete a background investigation, subject to applicable laws.
- Complete a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements prior to employment, if required.
- Have a valid driver’s license only if assigned to a driving position.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, laboratories, parking areas, and perimeter areas; report unusual conditions and access concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor and vehicle entry records.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, follow site protocols, and promptly notify appropriate personnel.
- Document incidents, patrol findings, and shift activities according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
