About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol security officer at a supportive housing shelter in Brooklyn, New York. The officer will help safeguard residents, visitors, staff, and the site by maintaining a visible presence, conducting patrols, monitoring activity, and responding professionally to security concerns and incidents. The role calls for teamwork, integrity, reliability, and a caring, people-first approach. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Pay is $17.00 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Applicable licensing may be required before employment.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shelter common areas, entrances, exits, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations, following established reporting and notification procedures.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location.
Document incidents and unusual conditions, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
