About The Position

As a full-time unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location in New York, NY, you will safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and providing customer service and clear communication. You will conduct routine rounds, report security concerns, and collaborate with site personnel. The role is scheduled Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and pays $18.87 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply prior to employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, staff, visitors, and individuals accessing government services by carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned facilities, entry points, common areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and observe visitor activity, direct individuals to appropriate locations, and report unusual or prohibited activity.
Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, maintaining clear communication with supervisors and site personnel.
