About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer serving as a screener at a logistics and distribution location in Oakland, California, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening individuals and items, monitoring access points, and supporting badge-control processes. You will remain visible to help deter incidents while providing attentive customer service and clear communication. The role is part of a team focused on integrity, teamwork, and putting people first. The schedule is Thursday and Sunday, 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The pay rate is $21.95 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements vary by state and locality and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Access-control and badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and shipments according to site procedures and access-control requirements.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity to site leadership.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution location, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
