Security Officer Full Time Logistics Entry
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location in San Pedro, California. The officer will safeguard the site by controlling access, monitoring entry points and activity, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and maintaining a visible security presence. The role also provides customer service and clear communication to employees, visitors, delivery personnel, and commercial drivers. The scheduled hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Control facility access by verifying identification, credentials, delivery appointments, and authorization for people entering and exiting the property.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, visitor logs, access-control systems, and shipping or receiving areas; report unusual activity and access concerns.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, document events, and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, loading docks, and access points.
