About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a transportation terminal in Richmond, California, you will help safeguard the site by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing badge access, and responding to alarms and security-related incidents. You will maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized activity while providing customer service and communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed. The position offers access to a shift-claiming platform to explore additional shifts and schedule options. The listed pay rate is $24.90 per hour, with scheduled hours Monday and Tuesday from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Requirements

Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
A Guard Card or license is preferred.
Access-control and badge experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and applicable emergency-response activities at a transportation terminal.
Monitor and control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, screening authorized visitors and contractors, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
Respond calmly to access-control incidents, unauthorized-entry concerns, and critical situations, and promptly communicate relevant information to site contacts or emergency responders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of terminal access points, business areas, perimeter locations, and parking or loading areas to deter unauthorized activity.
