About The Position

The Security Officer works at a laboratory facility to help maintain a safe and secure environment for the client. The role monitors premises and assigned locations, observes and reports activities and incidents, and helps resolve security-related issues. The officer preserves order by enforcing site regulations and directives related to personnel, visitors, and the facility, and may provide information and customer service to employees and customers. The position also involves assigning system alarms to the Facility Manager as required and using Microsoft Teams to assist the receptionist. This is a full-time position scheduled for 36 hours per week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No prior experience is necessary; training is provided. Candidates with retail, food service, or hospitality experience may be a good fit. Applicants must pass a drug screen and background check and meet applicable security officer/guard licensing requirements. The role requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking, potentially for extended periods, as well as possible stair climbing and walking on inclines or uneven terrain. Frequent lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds may also be required.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Pass a drug screen and background check.
Meet and continue to meet applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers/Guards.
Ability to perform frequent sitting, standing, and walking, potentially for long periods; may need to climb stairs and walk on inclines or uneven terrain.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
