About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Emergency Patrol in Chester, Virginia. The position provides a set weekly schedule at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment to the designated site and anchor shifts. The officer may also claim additional shifts through the company's scheduling platform, with the opportunity to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. Pay is $19.00 per hour.

The role provides customer service and performs security-related procedures, patrols, access monitoring, emergency response, and documentation at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. The scheduled shifts are Tuesday 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, Wednesday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and Thursday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, if required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with credential verification and visitor direction, and report access-related concerns.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations according to site procedures, contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant security observations to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
