About The Position

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and property at the assigned premises. The role monitors access points, conducts regular patrols, and responds to security incidents and emergencies. The officer follows safety protocols and company policies, communicates with team members and external agencies, and uses technology and physical vigilance to help prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security threats. The position supports the smooth operation of the organization and the peace of mind of its stakeholders.

This is a full-time swing-shift position, Monday through Friday, 1500–2300, at a commercial building. The stated pay is $25.90.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a security guard or in a related security role.
• Basic proficiency with computer systems and wireless communication technology.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and repetitive motions required for patrol duties.
• Strong oral communication skills for interacting with team members, visitors, and emergency personnel.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in security training or related professional development courses.
• Experience with advanced access control systems and surveillance technology.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to security and safety.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control facility access using access control systems and verify the identification of people entering the premises.
• Conduct routine property patrols, including climbing stairs and inspecting areas for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
• Use wireless communication devices and radios to stay in contact with security team members and report incidents promptly.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, provide assistance, and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
• Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
