About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Chicago, Illinois. The role is assigned to a designated site and weekly anchor shift, requiring a six-month commitment. The scheduled shift is Tuesday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM. In addition to the fixed shift, officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The role provides security and customer service at a retail property, including patrols, incident response, and monitoring and reporting concerns. Pay is $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be 21 or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• State or local licensing may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and visitors while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail property, including common areas, storefronts, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Monitor for unusual activity, property concerns, and policy violations, and report observations according to site procedures.
• Help maintain an orderly, welcoming environment, deter unauthorized activity, and support the needs of the retail location.
