About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a commercial real estate location in Chicago, Illinois. The officer will safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, and providing customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff. The role involves responding professionally to incidents and alarms, assisting with visitor access and badge-related processes, documenting activity, and communicating relevant information to leadership and site contacts. The scheduled shifts are Thursday through Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.75 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Applicable licensing requirements may apply.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff while following security procedures and site-specific policies.
- Carry out emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, tenant concerns, alarms, and critical situations, and document activities according to site requirements.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking areas, loading docks, and the property perimeter.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
- Maintain daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
