About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer in Visitor Services in Austin, Texas. The role provides front-desk security at a technology, media, and telecommunications location, combining a welcoming, professional visitor experience with access control, visitor management, and security communications. The officer remains visible at the front desk, helps deter incidents, follows site-specific procedures, and delivers customer service. The stated schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Pay is $22.28 per hour.

Requirements

• Have three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Experience with access control and badges.
• Customer service experience.
• CPR and First Aid experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming presence at the front desk and follow site-specific procedures and policies.
• Greet employees, visitors, contractors, and guests; verify access authorization; issue visitor credentials; and maintain accurate visitor records.
• Monitor entry activity, access-control systems, communications, and other assigned security-related equipment, and report irregularities according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations calmly, using a customer-focused, problem-solving approach and escalating matters when needed.
• Support reception and access management by providing directions, answering routine inquiries, and coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as appropriate.
