About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for visitor services at a luxury retail location in McLean, Virginia. The role provides front-desk security and customer service, creating a welcoming first impression while supporting access control, visitor management, and badge procedures. Officers use computers or tablets to maintain accurate records, communicate with guests and team members, and address security-related concerns. The position offers a schedule that can be supplemented by claiming additional shifts through the company’s platform.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a luxury retail front desk while following site-specific security procedures and policies.
Welcome and screen visitors, verify appointments and access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain visitor and delivery records.
Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems from the front desk, and report irregular activity according to site procedures.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations; contact appropriate personnel or emergency responders as needed.
Maintain a professional front-desk presence to deter unauthorized access and support a polished retail environment.
