About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a manufacturing and industrial location in Columbus, Mississippi. The role involves access control, routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and providing customer service and clear communication. This is a driving position and requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Pay is $16.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; required for driving positions.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers while following site-specific security procedures and access-control policies.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor and contractor passes, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
• Respond calmly to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and security concerns.
• Support emergency response activities, communicate with Allied Universal leadership and site personnel, and complete required reports and documentation.
