About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for helping ensure the safety and security of associates, guests, and company assets. The position supports the company’s goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values as an active business partner. The officer provides a professional security presence while maintaining a focus on customer service and staying informed about property activities and events during each shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of security experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification and ability to present a current Guard Card.
• Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs is expected.
• Ability to walk and give directions for most of the working day; stand and maintain well-paced mobility for up to four hours; reach hotel outlets and departments promptly; bend, stoop, squat, and stretch; and regularly lift up to 15 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Luxury hotel experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior property patrols, checking for unsecured doors and rooms, trespassers, unauthorized people in restricted areas, and safety hazards.
• Respond to guest and associate calls while on patrol, prioritizing emergencies.
• Draft incident reports and keep key logs, lost-and-found records, group resumes, contractor passes, and emergency-equipment records current through daily audits.
• Complete daily shift logs and shift pass-down logs.
• Monitor CCTV and maintain surveillance of the grounds using the camera system.
• Conduct associate safety training and report or resolve safety hazards throughout the property daily.
• Respond to incidents, communicate about them, follow up, and provide updates as they occur.
• Maintain knowledge of property activities and events for each shift, receive and communicate shift information from daily briefings, and provide a professional security presence focused on customer service.
