About The Position

Armorous is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a construction site in Berkeley, California. The officer will safeguard property, deter criminal activity, and help ensure the safety of the site. The role requires vigilance, sound decision-making, and strong communication skills. Duties include conducting hourly tours, securing the premises, controlling access by checking guests in and out, and checking entrances and exits. The schedule is 37 hours per week: Wednesday through Friday, 11:59 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday, listed as 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. The posting lists compensation at $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid BSIS Guard Card.
• Current BSIS compliance, including an 8-hour initial training certificate and 32-hour continuing education certificates.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
• Experience working graveyard shifts and ability to stay vigilant during night shifts.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Check the IDs of all incoming patrons.
• Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and support public safety.
• Respond to incidents and provide support in emergencies.
• Document daily activity, incidents, and observations accurately in reports.
• Communicate security updates and concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Conduct hourly tours, secure the premises, check guests in and out, and check entrances and exits.
