About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer to support a healthcare location in Durham, North Carolina. The officer will help safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and facilities through routine patrols, a visible security presence, incident response, and customer service. The role involves using a computer or tablet and working collaboratively to help maintain a welcoming environment with integrity.

The position is scheduled Wednesday through Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and pays $20.46 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. State or local licensing may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may need to be met before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations according to established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual activity or potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, wayfinding, and facility entry procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
