Security Officer - Driving Role
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a driving role at an education location in Lafayette, Indiana. The officer will serve and safeguard clients by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, and providing customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role requires a valid driver’s license. The position is scheduled for daytime hours, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on applicable background investigation and drug screening; licensing requirements may apply under state or local rules.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- Valid driver’s license, in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and with a problem-solving approach to incidents, access concerns, medical situations, and other critical events, following established campus protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of educational facilities, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and general information, and report unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation in accordance with site requirements.
