Security Officer Part Time Overnight Screening

About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for overnight shifts at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location in Durham, North Carolina. The officer will provide access control and customer service, verify authorized entry, monitor activity, keep records, and conduct patrols. The role supports a safe environment through a visible presence, professional communication, and calm responses to incidents. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.23 per hour. Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment, where required.
Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Monitor access points and verify credentials and authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles entering and exiting the location.
Maintain accurate access logs, visitor records, and incident documentation according to site-specific requirements.
Respond calmly and effectively to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations; escalate matters to appropriate site contacts or emergency responders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
