About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a screening assignment at a healthcare location in Tampa, Florida. The role provides a fixed weekly shift at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment to the designated site and shift. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, allowing them to increase their hours, potentially up to 40 hours per week, or scale back as needed. The listed pay rate is $17.75 per hour.

The officer provides courteous service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site-specific screening procedures. Duties include screening people entering designated areas, verifying access requirements, operating screening equipment, conducting authorized inspections, responding to incidents, documenting activities, and conducting patrols.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site-specific screening procedures and policies.
• Screen individuals entering designated areas, verify access requirements, and direct visitors to appropriate check-in locations.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct authorized inspections of personal belongings, packages, and deliveries while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
• Respond calmly to incidents, prohibited-item findings, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, screening areas, and nearby perimeter locations to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
