Security Officer Part Time Security Screening
About The Position
As a part-time Security Officer performing security screening at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location in Oakland, California, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening personnel, visitors, packages, and belongings entering the facility. You will maintain a professional presence, communicate clearly, provide customer service, and identify and report security-related concerns. The position is scheduled Fridays and Saturdays from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM and pays $21.95 per hour. The role includes screening procedures, monitoring screening equipment, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols. Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security screening procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and belongings according to location procedures and access requirements.
- Monitor screening equipment and report prohibited items, irregularities, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, access points, and the perimeter.
