About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer in Sparrows Point, Maryland, you will help safeguard an industrial client by managing entry points, verifying authorized access, monitoring activity, and maintaining a visible presence. You will communicate professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel, support security operations with patrols and clear documentation, and respond to incidents as appropriate. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.03 per hour. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related records according to site procedures.
Control vehicle and pedestrian access at gates and entry points, direct authorized personnel and deliveries, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of industrial facilities, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas, and identify and report security-related concerns.
