About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Officer for a retail location in Portland, Tennessee. The officer will help safeguard clients, shoppers, and employees by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring activity, and providing customer service. The role includes documenting observations and incidents, responding professionally to concerns, and supporting emergency procedures. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.42 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require a minimum age of 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors while following security procedures and site-specific policies and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the store, parking areas, receiving areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity for unusual conditions; report incidents and potential hazards to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
Help maintain an orderly environment by providing directions, supporting emergency procedures, and documenting daily activities, incidents, and observations.
