About The Position

As a Security Officer at an educational facility in Patchogue, New York, you will help maintain a welcoming and secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide customer service and clear communication while supporting campus operations through teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. This is a full-time position paying $18.90 per hour. The schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, and Sunday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Alarm panel experience.

CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorization, and permitted entry in accordance with campus policies.
Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related logs, and communicate relevant information to campus representatives and/or Allied Universal leadership.
Respond calmly and professionally to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, common areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
