About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer in Chicago, Illinois, to serve and safeguard clients at a retail location. The officer will maintain a visible presence, conduct patrols, communicate professionally with shoppers and staff, and respond to concerns with care and integrity. The role focuses on supporting a welcoming environment through teamwork, reliability, and customer service. The position pays $19.75 per hour. The listed schedule is Wednesday and Thursday, 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The role offers access to a platform for viewing and claiming additional shifts.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and retail patrons while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of common areas, parking areas, retail spaces, residential building exteriors, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points, observe visitor and contractor activity, and report suspicious behavior, property concerns, or policy violations according to site procedures.
Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.
