About The Position

As a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare and research location in Rockville, Maryland, you will help safeguard personnel, visitors, and vendors. You will provide customer service, conduct unarmed patrols, monitor access and visitor activity, and respond to security concerns and emergencies according to site protocols. The role offers a schedule that can be supplemented by claiming additional shifts through the company’s Claim a Shift platform.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site protocols and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site policy, and report access concerns or policy violations.
Accurately and promptly document patrol observations, incidents, and other security-related activities in accordance with company and site requirements.
