About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for an assigned public transportation site in Richmond Hill, New York. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift with a six-month commitment and allows the officer to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Additional shifts may provide opportunities to work up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The position pays $24.88 per hour and has a scheduled shift on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The Security Officer provides customer service and carries out site-specific procedures and security policies at a transit location. Duties include patrolling station areas and responding to unusual activity, incidents, and emergencies.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a public transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned station areas, platforms, facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, as applicable.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazardous conditions, suspicious items, unauthorized access, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents, service disruptions, emergencies, and critical situations while following established procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and crowd management.
• Maintain a professional presence to help deter unauthorized activity.
