About The Position

As an Unarmed Security Officer conducting transit station patrols in Brooklyn, New York, you will safeguard a government transportation location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service and clear communication. You will work collaboratively with site personnel to help maintain a welcoming and orderly environment.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, transit location policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, and surrounding perimeters to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and in a problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and notifying appropriate personnel or emergency responders.
Monitor access points and public areas, assist with crowd management during peak travel periods or special events, and provide directions or general information to the public.
Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and actions taken, and communicate professionally with transit personnel, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
