About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Officer for a retail and shopping mall location in Nottingham, Maryland. The officer will safeguard clients and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, visitors, and staff by maintaining a visible presence, patrolling assigned areas, communicating professionally, and responding to concerns and incidents. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.70 per hour.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and vendors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, parking areas, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following site-specific procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
Monitor access points and observe activity to help maintain an orderly environment for shoppers, tenants, and visitors.
Document patrols, incidents, and observations in accurate reports and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
