Security Officer Full Time Patrol Access Coordination
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location in San Francisco, California. The officer will help safeguard residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, supporting access control and visitor interactions, and providing professional customer service. The role involves responding calmly and compassionately to incidents and resident concerns, following site-specific procedures, documenting observations, and communicating with appropriate personnel. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:30 AM to 8:30 AM. The pay rate is $24.50 per hour. Applicants must have at least one year of security-related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements vary by applicable state and local laws and may need to be met before employment.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations calmly and compassionately, following reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures; document observations and report unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.
