About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for access coordination at an industrial location in Sparrows Point, Maryland. The officer will help manage facility entry and exit points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, communicate with employees, visitors, and site personnel, maintain a visible presence, and conduct routine patrols. The role involves providing customer service while following site policies and security procedures and responding to emergencies and incidents as appropriate. The position pays $18.03 per hour and is scheduled Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks. Employment is subject to background investigation and drug screening, as permitted by law. State or local licensing may be required before employment. A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to industrial facilities, gates, buildings, and restricted areas by verifying credentials, visitor authorizations, and delivery documentation.
• Maintain accurate access logs, issue and recover visitor badges or credentials, and communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly, following established reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
