About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for access coordination at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in South Bend, Indiana. The officer will provide customer service and security support by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and assisting with badge-related processes. The role involves following site-specific procedures and post orders, responding to incidents and alarms, communicating with site contacts, and documenting observations and incidents. The schedule includes Monday and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight and Sunday from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. The pay rate is $17.69 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements if required for employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas, identifying and reporting unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials and authorization, and document entries, exits, and relevant observations.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and complete required incident documentation.
• Follow post orders and communicate clearly with site contacts.
• Report maintenance, access-control, and other security-related concerns.
• Assist with badge-related processes and support a professional, orderly environment.
