About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for patrol and site checks at a technology-focused location in Torrance, California. The unarmed officer will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, clear communication, professionalism, and responding to evolving needs. The posted pay rate is $20.50 per hour. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Allied Universal provides access to a platform for viewing and claiming additional shifts.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements imposed by state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if assigned to a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of the facility, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures, verify credentials, and direct guests to appropriate locations.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.
