About The Position

As a full-time, unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal in Norfolk, Virginia, you will serve and safeguard clients at a marine industrial location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, report observations, and support a welcoming environment. The role is scheduled for daytime shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The pay rate is $16.90 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the business location and perimeter.
Document observations, incidents, and unusual activity according to site-specific procedures.
Assist with access control and visitor interactions as directed by site-specific policies.
