About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol driver to serve and safeguard clients at a retail location in Roanoke, Virginia. The role involves routine vehicle and foot patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations. The officer maintains a visible, professional presence to help deter security-related incidents and support a welcoming environment for customers and associates. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. The position pays $18.00 per hour and is scheduled Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The officer provides customer service, follows security procedures and site-specific policies, responds to incidents and emergencies as appropriate, and communicates clearly while representing Allied Universal’s values. Employment is subject to background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, drug screening.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license, required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed vehicle and foot patrols throughout retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and document observations in required reports.
Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and directions while maintaining a professional presence that helps deter unauthorized activity.
