About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a cultural institution in Syracuse, New York. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, maintains a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and supports a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The position emphasizes customer service, clear communication, professionalism, teamwork, and integrity. The role is scheduled Monday and Thursday from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Pay is $17.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, follow established protocols, and notify appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and inquiries, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to site leadership.
Prepare accurate written reports and maintain required logs related to incidents, patrols, observations, and security-related activities.
