About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Patrol Officer to support a public transportation environment in San Jose, California. The role serves and safeguards clients and provides customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel. The officer conducts regular and random patrols, maintains a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitors assigned areas, communicates observations, responds to security concerns, and supports a welcoming environment. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.83 per hour. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred.
A Guard Card/License is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel at public transportation facilities while following site-specific policies and security procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, perimeters, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and observe activities in assigned areas; report suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly, following established emergency response protocols.
Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and public agency representatives.
