About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for unarmed patrol at a hospital campus in Modesto, California. The position provides a fixed weekly shift at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment, and allows the officer to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Additional shifts may enable work up to 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to scale back.

The officer provides customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site procedures and responding to emergencies in a healthcare setting. Duties include unarmed patrols, monitoring access points, assisting visitors, reporting concerns, and maintaining accurate incident and activity records. The listed schedule is Monday, 1:30 PM–10:00 PM. The pay rate is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• A Guard Card and/or license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disruptive behavior, and other critical situations calmly and professionally, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including building interiors, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as assigned, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Accurately document incidents, observations, and daily activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
