About The Position
As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements
- 20+ Years of Age
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 20 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, public agencies, and/or site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, restricted access points, roadways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe unusual conditions.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, check credentials and/or access permissions where required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Assist with traffic flow, crowd management, and directional support during peak travel periods, special events, alarms, and/or operational disruptions at the location.
