As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• 20+ Years of Age (for unarmed roles)
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate calmly and clearly to the general public
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment

Nice To Haves

• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an airport location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with local authorities, first responders, and/or site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entry points, restricted areas, and credential requirements while following post orders and reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity logs, incident reports, and pass-down information, and provide directions or general assistance to the public when appropriate.
