About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Front Desk Security Officer to support a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Carteret, New Jersey. The role involves welcoming visitors, managing access, monitoring entry activity, responding to security-related concerns, and providing customer service in a professional and welcoming environment. The schedule is Monday and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The pay rate is $21.63 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
CPR certification.

Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and vendors at the front desk while following site-specific security procedures and policies.
Monitor access points, verify visitor credentials and appointments, issue visitor badges, and maintain accurate entry records.
Receive and direct visitors, answer incoming calls, and communicate professionally with on-site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
Monitor security-related systems, alarms, and communications equipment from the front desk, and report unusual activity or concerns according to established procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, including initiating appropriate notifications and emergency response activities when required.
