About The Position

As a part-time Front Desk Security Officer at a shelter location in Asbury Park, New Jersey, you will provide a welcoming, professional presence while monitoring access, greeting visitors, managing entry procedures, and communicating concerns. You will help support a secure environment for residents, staff, and guests through customer service and security-related work. The role is scheduled Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM and pays $19.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local regulations.

Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
State or local licensing may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by following site-specific security procedures, front-desk policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Greet and screen visitors, verify access authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct people to appropriate areas.
Monitor entry points, cameras, alarms, and communications equipment; report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security incidents according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate shift handoffs while supporting a professional, welcoming front desk.
