Security Officer Store Property Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to patrol a retail property in Aberdeen, Maryland. The officer helps safeguard the location and maintain a welcoming environment for shoppers, visitors, associates, and store personnel through visible patrols, customer service, incident response, and communication with store personnel and Allied Universal leadership. The role is scheduled during the daytime on Mondays and Sundays, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and pays $18.00 per hour. The position offers access to a platform for viewing and claiming additional shifts, paid training, career growth opportunities, a retirement savings plan, and discounts through the Perks Program. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and store personnel while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the retail sales floor, entrances, parking areas, receiving areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate store personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
- Assist with access control, visitor direction, and incident documentation while maintaining a professional presence.
