About The Position

As a full-time unarmed Security Officer at a retail and mall location in San Marcos, California, you will serve and safeguard clients while helping maintain a welcoming environment. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, assist customers and tenants, communicate professionally, and report concerns. The position follows a schedule of 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, tenants, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, assigned tenant spaces, parking areas, and the property perimeter.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location; report suspicious conditions, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
Complete activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.
