About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer – Access Authorization in Elmsford, New York. The role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site, with the option to pick up additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The designated site and weekly anchor shift require a six-month commitment. Employees may work up to 40 hours in a week by claiming extra shifts and can scale back when needed.

The scheduled shift is Sunday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM. The listed pay range is $16.92–$17.92 per hour; the overview also lists a rate of $17.92 per hour.

The officer provides customer service and carries out site-specific access-control procedures, including credential verification, visitor records, badge and pass handling, entry-point monitoring, incident response, and patrols. The work environment and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that apply under state and/or local laws and regulations; a license may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, contractors, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, issue and collect access badges and/or passes, and direct authorized individuals to designated areas.
• Monitor entry and exit points, vehicle gates, and loading-area access to help deter unauthorized access and support orderly movement of personnel and deliveries.
• Respond calmly and constructively to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the facility perimeter, parking areas, and loading areas.
