About The Position

As a Security Officer Medical Facility Lobby Access Control in Brooklyn, New York, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries, including education. This is an unarmed security role at a dynamic educational location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The position requires outstanding customer service, clear communication, and professional responses to security-related concerns.

The position is full-time and pays $17.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, Tuesday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, and Saturday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established campus protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management, including providing directions, escorts, and general campus information as needed.
• Accurately and promptly document observations, incidents, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and appropriate campus personnel.
