About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to support a medical facility lobby access-control assignment in Brooklyn, New York. The posting also describes the assignment as an unarmed patrol role supporting an educational location. The officer will provide customer service, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, respond to security concerns, and communicate with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners. The listed pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and campus perimeters to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
Assist with access control by observing entry points, verifying authorization as directed, and reporting access-related concerns.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal supervision and designated campus contacts.
